About Skye

I am a piano tutor with over 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music. I offer personalized lessons tailored to each student’s unique goals and learning style. My specialization includes pop piano arranging, modern chord voicings, and playing by ear, especially for popular songs. I believe learning should be both fun and rewarding, so my teaching style is supportive and engaging. I work with students of all levels, from Beginners taking their first steps to Advanced players aiming for Mastery. I have experience teaching a variety of styles including pop, rock, R&B, and contemporary worship music. Whether you want to accompany yourself singing, jam with friends, or develop your skills for performance, I’m here to help you grow. My lessons focus on building strong technique while encouraging creativity and musical expression. I love seeing students gain confidence as they learn to play songs they enjoy and understand the theory behind them. Together, we will explore your musical talents and unlock your potential in popular music. I’m excited to start this musical journey with you!

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on developing strong ear training skills for pianists at all levels. I emphasize identifying chords, melodies, and rhythms by ear, helping students build a deeper connection with music beyond the page. Perfect pitch development is part of the journey, allowing you to recognize notes and intervals quickly and accurately. This method strengthens your overall musicianship and makes learning new pieces easier and more intuitive.

I work closely with The Composer and The Digital Producer, providing tailored exercises to help them hear and recognize musical patterns without relying on sheet music. Together, we practice listening skills that improve improvisation, arrangement, and production work. My lessons balance structured drills with creative listening activities to keep you engaged and growing.

You'll gain confidence in trusting your ears and making musical decisions on the fly. I support you every step of the way to excel in ear training and become a more intuitive musician.
