About Sapta
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I'm dedicated to helping students of all ages and skill levels discover the joy of playing the piano. My teaching philosophy is rooted in a love for music and a belief that everyone can develop their musical talents with the right guidance and encouragement.
Throughout my career, I've had the pleasure of performing in various musical settings. From musical theatre in the States to providing piano music for weddings, lounge settings, and special events, I've learned so much to pass on to my students. I’ve also had the honour of accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists for weddings, special occasions, and auditions.
In addition to these experiences, I’ve enjoyed hosting open mic nights in the States, creating a supportive and fun environment for budding artists to share their talents.
My approach to teaching is warm, personalised, and engaging. Whether you're a beginner eager to learn the basics or an advanced student looking to refine your skills, I tailor my lessons to meet your individual needs and goals. Together, we'll explore a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, and develop a solid foundation in technique, theory, and performance.

I teach through the "Piano Adventures" curriculum which is a fun, step by step method that covers note reading, music theory, technique and artistry, improvisation, sight reading, and ear training.
I enjoy tailoring lessons to student's goals and love to branch off of the Piano Adventures curriculum to help each student learn pieces and techniques that particularly interest them.
