About Polina
I'm a pianist of 10+ years and a composition graduate from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. I have performed both solo, in classical ensembles and contemporary bands, and have a love for all styles and genres of music. I’ve also been highly commended in the 2021 BBC Young Composer competition and have been awarded prizes for my solo piano compositions. I believe music is a powerful form of self-expression and my goal is to help students discover their own voice through a holistic approach to learning. Enjoyment and curiosity to learn makes hard work easier, and I aim to inspire this in all my students!

My teaching style is patient, flexible, and student-centred. Whether you're working towards ABRSM graded exams, preparing for a performance, or simply learning for enjoyment, I’ll adapt each lesson to suit your goals, interests, and pace. I will help students improve their technical skills, develop a strong musical ear, and build confidence in their own musical voice. I offer 30 minute, 45 minute, or 1 hour lessons.
I believe the most rewarding lessons are those where students leave feeling excited and motivated for the next time they get to play the piano and make music!
Alongside piano, I also offer music theory lessons, and for those interested in music composition, I can guide you through:
-music notation and engraving
-effective orchestration for all instruments and ensembles
-ways of generating ideas
-developing your own style
