About Rhys
Hi! I'm Rhys, I tutor Physics Astrophysics, Cosmology, Astronomy Maths and some Electronics. I have a first class (hons) in "Physics with Astrophysics and Cosmology" from Loughborough University. I am currently waiting on continuing my postgraduate degree for which was delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
I offer private 1-1 tuition from GCSE to A-Level. I provide tutorial lessons along side workshops and problems classes from which we can work through exam questions and provide and explanation on the method to allow for efficient and accurate answers in order to achieve the best mark possible.
I have helped fellow classmates in physics, maths and electronics along side teachers in the past as well as helping undergraduate finalist (Final year undergraduates) with their dissertation in Astrophysics.
My education background:
-Primary education: Holbrook Primary School.
-Secondary education: The Forest School ("for boys" at the time). Where I achieved 12 A*-C grades.
-College: The college of Richard Collyers (Collyers). Where I achieved A*A*A in Physics, Maths and Electronics respectively (Target grades: DCC).
-Undergraduate: Loughborough University graduate with First-Class honours (BSc).
I was offered a position for an interview for Oxbridge (University interview for Oxford or Cambridge) but declined to pressuring my athletics career at Loughborough University (2018-present).
I am a national athlete (100m, 200m and 400m) sprinter and also have completed for Loughborough University at BUCS. I love traveling and exploring the world as well as being a qualified Astronomer (my dissertation being was based of the analysing stars and concluding on how they would age and eventually die).

My teaching method is based on 1 on 1 interactions while providing lecture notes and formal descriptions of the topics requested. There is no bad question, Physics is about curiosity. The tutoring is a calm and relaxed environment where anything can be asked or worked on. I believe that you don't learn by just remembering out of a book but only when you can see and interpreted the topic at hand. Therefore, its my job to allow you to understand the topic by allowing you to see what is being aske. To visualise the question and to make physics relatable to everything you see in every day life.
I work primarily with the "hands on" approach of providing questions and key points about them, along side this, a mark scheme that can help the student understand the requirements of each question and to answer them accurately and efficiently as required in an exam.
Always here to help and aid with any confusion throughout student's studies to prevent academic plateauing.
There can be lessons to explain the reasons of being correct and/or incorrect to questions, rather than just saying "good" or "bad" with a tick or cross. I prefer for you to see your errors and to gain an understanding through explanation rather than being left in the dark with an incorrect answer (This can also be done via email).
If there is a topic for which a student is confused or stuck on, I can provide notes of my own to really breakdown the context of what is happening in the topic or question for which may not be found in textbooks or lesson notes (Due to time constraints or lessons/lectures).
I can construct notes and questions for session as well as a book to do work in for our sessions and questions that I can set weekly.
I also work with email for any confusion on questions set or exam preparations while tutoring with me.
