About Matti
I am a recent college graduate, currently awaiting security clearance approval to begin my career as an engineer in the Defense industry. Having spent the past four years studying Math and Physics, my goal is to use what I've learned to help current students succeed. I also want to show younger students how creative and enjoyable Math and Physics can be, in hopes of encouraging them to continue learning, whether in the classroom or on their own.

I strive to teach Math and Physics in an intuitive way, simplifying complex ideas so that a student can really understand the relevant principles. In short, my approach is to first identify what a student already understands well, and where their understanding starts to break down. Then to build from that starting point to explain things in terms of what already makes sense to them. I try to teach in a Socratic way, asking questions to lead students to answers, rather than simply giving them the answers or lecturing/professing.
