About Jacob

Choosing a tutor is an important decision. Students and families deserve someone who is knowledgeable, reliable, and deeply committed to their success. I bring graduate-level training in Physics and Neuroscience, extensive teaching experience, and a structured, results-driven approach to every session.

My goal is simple: help students truly understand the material, build confidence, and perform at their highest level. Whether a student needs foundational support or advanced preparation, I provide structured guidance that builds confidence and measurable improvement.

About the lesson

I focus on deep understanding over memorization. My goal is not just to help students complete homework, but to give them the tools to become confident, independent thinkers.

Every tutoring session is structured but flexible based on student needs. A typical session may include the following:
- Intro/Warmup: A quick diagnostic on where we are. We discuss any lingering questions or anything we agreed to look over before the session.
-Review/Reinforcement: Clear ideas exploration and explanation using examples, figures and guided reasoning/practice of worked problems.
-Independent Application: I may give a problem or two and have the student attempt it on their own. Then, we’ll discuss and they walk me through their reasoning/analysis.
-Lingering Issues/Feedback: We discuss where key points or sticking issues are. We make a plan for what to do before the next session (additional study guides/problems/etc.).

- Strong STEM background (Physics + Neuroscience).
- Graduate-level training in analytical thinking and Teaching Pedagogy
- Experience teaching K–12 and college coursework, as well as standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, GRE).
- Ability to explain difficult concepts in simple, intuitive ways.
- Focus on long-term skill building, not short-term cramming.

- Ability to locate and address key problem areas in the learning process.
