About Laura
I am a recent college graduate in Biochemistry and Education and supported a variety of science classes as a hired tutor during my time in school. I have experience working with larger groups (up to 20 students) as well as with individual students and students with special learning needs. My students have learned better study habits along with a deepening understanding of physics leading to improved grades and improved confidence. While most of my tutoring experience has been with college students, I have also worked with younger and older age-groups and have plenty of patience and energy, so reach out!

I use a lot of Socratic questioning, so be prepared for me to ask you questions you don't know how to answer at first. I will lead you through your own thinking until it makes sense in your own head. After all, who cares if it makes sense in MY head? It's YOUR head it has to make sense in! I will say, though, that my first concern is always to the big picture. I want you to know why you are learning what you are learning, how it fits into what you already know, and how it fits into what you want to know. Diagrams and analogies are excellent tools at that level. Once the big picture is there, I am well-attuned to detail and will work with you to master anything you desire.
