About Irene

Hello! I'm Irene, a passionate Physics graduate with extensive tutoring experience spanning diverse age groups—from young learners of 6 years to dedicated students of 40. My greatest joy as an educator is witnessing the transformation in my students as they discover their inner confidence and conquer challenges that once seemed insurmountable.

Physics and Mathematics don't have to be daunting; they can be intriguing puzzles and rewarding journeys of discovery. My mission is not just to teach formulas but to foster true understanding, intuition, and genuine curiosity. When my students grasp concepts deeply and begin to approach problems with excitement rather than fear, it reminds me exactly why I fell in love with teaching.

Together, we’ll turn your struggles into strengths, your doubts into breakthroughs, and your goals into achievements.

  • 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

Since I first heard about the concept of universe and infinite, I started developing curiosity for how everything around me works. That's why I decided to go for my degree in Physics, to have a better understanding of the cosmos and a strong ability to solve problems. Tutoring has helped me to share my knowledge and my passion for science with other people.
  • 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

As a Physics and Math teacher I love to discuss anything that makes the student hesitate about the solution of the problem. I love that this sentence "okay, I now understand it". Anything that leads to that sentence is a good conversation for me.
  • 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I started tutoring because of a friend who recommended me to teach other students so I would get a better understanding of science in general. She has been my role model and every time I had some questions about how to teach, she was there.
  • 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Being patient, since all of us have struggled sometime to understand something.

Being knowledgeable, having a good understanding of the subject that you are teaching is key.

Being enthusiastic and showing your passion for the subject to your student. Always try to make the classes fun and enjoyable.
  • 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

My days are university were very fast paced. I was always with my classmates discussing different kinds of topics related to our field of studying. I could tell many anecdotes, but I will just say that I remember these days as a very nice time in my life.
  • 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

As everybody knows physics and math are not easy, there are many concepts that are difficult to understand or relate to everyday life. When you go deep into these subjects the concepts become more abstract. Having a complete understanding is something I am still working on.
  • 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

In my free time I love doing Yoga and yes I also enjoy teaching Yoga. So I guess teaching is my passion in general :)
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

My empathy with the students. The most intelligent people in this world were students at some point and they received help from someone else. I want to be that someone else who helped them.
