About Sara

I'm a 26 year old photographer from Buenos Aires, Argentina, now living and working in London, where I completed my MA in photography at the Royal College of Art.

After doing my bachelors in Architecture and taking photography workshops of every caliber, I'm ready to teach, a skill that has felt natural to me from a young age.

As a young photographer, I believe that you will find my approach to teaching photography very fresh, modern and didactic. In addition, I believe you might find the photography-as-art perspective to be inspiring to find your own voice, rather than learning a specific skill.

I am prepared to teach complete beginners as much as people trying to take their photographic eye and skills to the next level. I can also do portfolio reviews.

My artistic practice includes shooting digital and analog, different printing techniques and a lot of creative experimentation.

Details

The hourly rate applies for classes online or in person, but in person classes have a £10 extra fee for the time and costs of commuting. So for example, if we have an in-person one hour lesson, the cost will be: £40 + £10 = £50. But if we have an in-person two hour lesson, the cost will be £40x2 + £10 = £90. So the rate is per hour, but the commuting extra is per lesson, not per hour.

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I have taken photos since I was first given a small digital camera on my 8th birthday, but I started taking it more seriously from when I was around 18 years old.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

For me, a great work of art is one that doesn't give everything away at first. I like works that make me want to look at them more to try to understand them.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skill required to succeed in this area?

Like anything, I would say consistency is key. But also just opening your eyes to what surrounds you, being sensible and really paying attention to the small things.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

I don't know if I can answer this, since I'm always jumping between multiple ideas and projects at the same time. I guess it's a balance between finding things that make you excited but also sitting down and putting in the necessary work, including research.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

For me, photography is completely ingrained in my way of seeing - it doesn't separate from life!
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

Maybe a site-specific work that I made for a group show at the Embassy of Argentina. I thought at first that the premise of not being able to hang work on the walls was impossible, and then I was able to come up with something that really made sense within those limitations.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

I've definitely had some students who have been an inspiration in their drive and creative vision. It's always a pleasure to meet people like that.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

Understanding how it feels to not understand something, and trying to break it down in simple terms. Also, not taking anything for granted!
