About Sulaiman

I am studying Philosophy at undergraduate level at Cambridge University (Trinity College) - I have just finished my first year of study. Outside of my degree, I enjoy reading - particularly Russian and Modernist literature - as well as playing piano when I have free time.

I am friendly, approachable and have a calm and patient manner. I look forward to meeting you!

About the lesson

I have a flexible approach to tutoring – one that is geared towards the student. As such, I focus on areas that students themselves identify and want to improve upon. When a student suggests they want to move onto a different topic, I accommodate this need and tailor the session to the individual student.

Sessions will begin with covering what you already know and want to learn about, and then we go through areas that need attention. My aim is to make difficult concepts more understandable and digestible, often by using lots of different examples. Once comfortable with the understanding of the concepts, I will then go on to illustrate how they can be used in your work and subsequently taking ideas and concepts to the next level of application. Sessions typically last for an hour, though this is flexible.

I have volunteered at a local primary school, helping younger children with their reading skills. This experience not only enabled me to share my enthusiasm about literature, but also gave me an opportunity to develop my tutoring and mentoring skills. I have also coached at my local cricket club which was a great experience in learning how to balance between improving ability in a constructive positive way.
