About Diana

I have an MPhil in Philosophical studies from University College London, as well as a BA in German and Philosophy (also from UCL). I am currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy at the same institution. As a TA, I have led seminars on logic, philosophy of mind, epistemology, and philosophy of language - explaining the material, going over exercises, as well as providing feedback for formative and summative assessments. I am also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA), meaning that I am qualified to teach at university level. Prior to this, most of my teaching experience comes from teaching both English and German at different levels, which allowed me to develop a concise way of delivering complex concepts. Building on that experience, I also ran a philosophy discussion club at a secondary school, where we discussed advanced philosophical topics in a welcoming environment.

About the lesson

Philosophy is, at least in part, the pursuit of clarity - yet the paths towards that clarity are anything but. So, depending on your needs, we will take different approaches to better understand the topic at hand. We may look at a text more in depth, or dissect different arguments for or against a position. We may even look at some of your written work and discuss ways to improve it. My approach is largely to discover the answers together; rather than telling you what a certain philosopher meant, I will ask the questions that will help you understand the ideas yourself. Of course, I will also explain some core concepts when the situation requires it - as Aristotle might put it, it's all about the mean. My strengths are the Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Language, Epistemology, and Logic.

NOTE:
When reaching out, please be as descriptive as possible: what area of philosophy do you need help with (logic, epistemology, etc.), what level (are you an undergrad, postgrad, A-level student), what kind of help do you need (writing an essay, preparing for an exam, gaining more understanding, or even non-academic purposes). This will help me better evaluate your request before Superprof charges you a monthly fee. I look forward to hearing from you!

CANCELLATION POLICY
Should you cancel on the day of the lesson, but more than 6 hours in advance, only half of the fee will be charged. If you cancel within 6 hours before the lesson, then the whole fee will be charged.
