About María José

I am a University Professor, Associate Dean for International Affairs, and hold a PhD in Education (International Mention), as well as degrees in Psychology and Education. Throughout my career, I have combined teaching, research, and mentoring to help students achieve their academic and professional goals.

I have worked extensively with students applying for undergraduate and graduate programs, international scholarships, and fellowships. My experience includes serving on university selection committees, interviewing prospective students, supervising undergraduate and master's dissertations, and writing recommendation letters for competitive academic opportunities.

My own academic journey has also included highly competitive awards and scholarships, including Becas Europa, two consecutive Excellence Scholarships from the Regional Government of Madrid, and the Optimus Award. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of both the applicant's and the university's perspective.

About the lesson

Unlike traditional English lessons, my sessions are designed for students applying to undergraduate degrees, master's programs, PhDs, scholarships, and fellowships.

Every session begins with understanding your goals. Before editing a personal statement or reviewing a CV, we identify your strengths, clarify your motivations, and define the strategy that best fits your academic ambitions. Once that foundation is in place, we work together on every part of your application—from essays and motivation letters to interviews, recommendation letters, and university selection.

My approach combines my experience as a University Professor, Associate Dean, and researcher in education, psychology, character education, and international higher education. I also bring first-hand experience as both an applicant and a member of university selection committees, allowing me to understand the admissions process from multiple perspectives.

These sessions are ideal for ambitious students applying to competitive universities or scholarship programs who are looking for more than language support. My goal is to help you develop an application that is authentic, strategically positioned, and genuinely reflects who you are.

I don't just improve applications—I help students discover what makes them distinctive and communicate it with confidence.
