About Beth

I began my academic journey back in 2018, initially in First Year Health Science before discovering I wanted to major in Neuroscience. I also developed an interest in Pharmacology. In 2020, I proudly completed my Bachelor of Science.

The following year I pursued an Honours degree in Neuroscience, finishing with first class distinction.

I'm now in my third and final year of a fascinating PhD journey where I'm using stem cells to develop a neuronal model for cannabinoid research.

In addition to my research, I'm employed as a tutor and lab demonstrator at the University of Otago. I have a passion for teaching and love to help others unlock their full academic potential.

About the lesson

Typically, we would meet every week, and dedicate 1 hour to focusing on areas you find challenging, ensuring that you master the material at your own pace. We will conquer the most difficult exam topics together by tackling a wide variety of practice questions.

One of the cornerstones of my teaching approach is the use of specially prepared worksheets. These resources break down complex ideas into manageable parts. Utilizing a visual-first method, my lessons are packed with diagrams and illustrative pictures to aid comprehension and retention of key concepts.

To assist with your memorization, I also offer custom flashcards – a proven and effective tool to bolster recall and reinforce understanding.

With my tutoring program, you will not only better understand your subject, but also develop skills to study more effectively for future exams.
