About Taylor

I'm a PhD student (nearing completion) in Applied Physics, specifically Computational Biophysics. I have always enjoyed trying to understand life and the universe, and discussing it with anybody that's interested. One such form of this is by teaching/educating others. This first manifested in high school where I started helping teach science and maths classes to younger students, and has remained in various forms throughout my education. Some examples are private tuition, school classes and university tutorials.

About the lesson

I believe first-and-foremost that learning is a personal endeavour, and therefore strive to accommodate each student individually and adapt the lessons to their strengths and style of learning.
Having said that, there are 3 key ideas I have found apply to all students (as well as anybody else) when trying to learn something. These are; (1) Identifying what is required and how to get there (e.g. answering exam questions with full/high marks), (2) Understanding over remembering (this creates a higher quality of learning and flexibility when solving new/unique problems). (3) Confidence (both learning and problem solving prove significantly more fruitful when they are done with the belief that they can be!).
