About Jasleen

I am a PhD researcher at the University of British Columbia with experience in biomedical and clinical data analysis. My work involves biostatistics, R programming, and interpreting complex datasets related to health research. Alongside my research, I have experience tutoring students from diverse academic backgrounds, especially those transitioning into English-medium and university-level science programs.

I understand that statistics and data analysis can feel overwhelming, so I focus on creating a calm, supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I am patient, detail-oriented, and committed to helping students build both confidence and clarity in their understanding. My goal is not only to help students complete their coursework but also to develop skills they can apply independently in future academic or research work.

About the lesson

I focus on making statistics and R programming both understandable and immediately useful. My teaching approach is structured but flexible: I break complex concepts into clear, logical steps, then connect them directly to real assignments, datasets, or research problems.

A typical lesson includes concept explanation, guided problem-solving, and hands-on practice using R or statistical examples from your coursework or research. If you have urgent needs such as assignments, exams, thesis work, or data analysis problems, I tailor sessions to focus on fast, clear solutions while still ensuring you understand the underlying methods.

I adapt my teaching style to each student’s level, whether you are just starting with statistics or working on advanced research projects. I also emphasize interpreting results correctly, not just generating outputs.

With PhD-level research experience in biomedical sciences and clinical data analysis, I bridge the gap between theory and real-world research applications. These lessons are ideal for undergraduate and graduate students in science, health, and data-driven fields.
