About Roxanne
I am a PhD researcher in psychology, neuroscience and behavioural science at the University of Leicester. I hold a Distinction-level MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from Durham University and a BSc in Biomedical Science.
Having moved from South Africa to the UK to continue my studies, I understand what it feels like to be thrown in at the deep end and expected to adapt quickly to a new academic system, unfamiliar expectations and demanding coursework. This experience has made me especially aware of the challenges faced by international students and those who may need additional guidance in developing their academic confidence.
My background includes psychology, neuroscience, biology, research methods, statistics and scientific writing. I enjoy making complex ideas more accessible and helping students become confident, independent learners. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and academically rigorous, with every lesson tailored to the student’s level, goals and preferred way of learning.
