About Olivia
As a passionate and dedicated music educator with a PhD in music education specializing in violin, my journey in teaching and performing has been deeply enriching. With over 15 years of experience teaching violin and viola to students of all ages and levels, I have had the privilege of witnessing the transformative power of music in my students' lives.
My approach to teaching is grounded in a commitment to fostering a love for music while equipping students with the technical skills and artistic sensitivity needed for expressive playing. I tailor my lessons to meet the unique needs and aspirations of each student, whether they are beginners embarking on their musical journey or advanced players refining their technique and exploring advanced repertoire.

A violin or viola lesson with me is a personalized and enriching experience aimed at developing both technical prowess and musical expression. The core of our lessons focuses on building strong technical foundations essential for violin and viola playing. We work on exercises that improve bowing technique, finger dexterity, intonation, posture, and sound production. These fundamentals not only enhance your ability to play with accuracy and control but also prepare you for tackling more challenging repertoire with confidence.
In addition to technical exercises, we explore a diverse repertoire ranging from classical masterpieces to jazz standards and contemporary pieces. I encourage exploration of different musical styles to broaden your musical horizons and cater to your musical preferences.
