About Akanksha

Hello! I am Akanksha Thakur, a PhD in Mathematics with a passion for teaching and helping students build confidence in their mathematical abilities.

My academic journey has taken me from studying mathematics as a student to conducting doctoral research and publishing scientific work in applied mathematics. Throughout this journey, one thing has remained constant: my love for learning math and teaching math. Since I was a young girl all I ever wanted to be was a mathematician.

I understand that mathematics can sometimes feel intimidating. Many students believe they are "not good at math," but in my experience, most difficulties arise from gaps in understanding rather than a lack of ability. With the right guidance, every student can improve. My goal is not only to help students score better marks but also to help them become independent learners who can approach mathematical problems with confidence and curiosity. Whether you are a school student looking to strengthen your basics, a college student tackling advanced topics, or someone preparing for competitive examinations, I am committed to providing professional guidance.

I look forward to helping you discover that mathematics is not just a subject to study—it is a powerful way of thinking.

About the lesson

My teaching philosophy is simple: mathematics is for everyone. If a student is struggling with mathematics, it does not mean they are incapable of learning it; it often means they have not yet found the right way to approach the subject. My goal is to help students discover that approach and build confidence in their abilities.

I focus on developing conceptual understanding rather than rote memorization. During classes, I explain the theory in a simple and intuitive manner, followed by examples and guided problem-solving sessions. I encourage students to ask questions freely and gradually become independent learners who can tackle problems on their own. As a teacher, I bring a strong academic background, patience, and a genuine passion for mathematics. Having completed doctoral research in mathematics, I can help students not only learn formulas and techniques but also understand the reasoning behind them. I believe that with the right guidance, dedication, and learning strategy, every student can succeed in mathematics.
