About Yasha
I am a passionate and dedicated Biology educator with a strong academic background in Zoology and a genuine commitment to student success. I hold a Ph.D. in Zoology, am NET-qualified, and have been awarded multiple academic honours, including university gold medals and a Junior Research Fellowship. Alongside my academic achievements, I bring extensive teaching experience from universities, online education platforms, and private tutoring. I am currently working as a Biology Teacher at Kew Gardens.
I pride myself on being patient, approachable, and highly organised, creating a supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and explore concepts deeply. Having worked with learners of different ages and abilities, I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and goals. My aim is not only to help students excel academically but also to inspire curiosity and a lasting interest in Biology.

My lessons are student-centred, interactive and tailored to individual learning needs. I focus on building strong conceptual foundations in Biology by combining clear explanations with visual aids, real-life examples and problem-solving practice. Where possible, I encourage enquiry-based learning and link topics to environmental science and conservation to make lessons engaging and relevant.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions can be arranged depending on academic goals or exam preparation needs. I have nearly five years of classroom teaching experience and over ten years of private tutoring, teaching students from ages 8 to 20, from school level to undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
I hold a Ph.D. in Zoology, am a NET-qualified educator, and have extensive experience mentoring students for exams, research projects and academic progression.
