About Dario

Hello! I’m Dario, a PhD student in Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast, originally from Canada, where I completed my BSc and MSc in Biology. My studies have taken me across two countries and into fascinating areas of ecology, environmental science, and data analysis — experiences that have deepened both my knowledge and my appreciation for how interconnected science and learning truly are. I’ve been tutoring maths and science for over eight years, helping students from Key Stage 3 to A-Level (the UK equivalent of Grades 7–12). What I enjoy most about teaching is seeing students go from uncertain or frustrated to genuinely proud of their progress — when they realise they can do it, and their confidence starts to grow. Moments like that make tutoring deeply rewarding for me. Outside of academia, I’m curious about how science connects to the world around us — from climate and biodiversity to how we think and learn. I bring that curiosity into every lesson, aiming to make subjects not only understandable but genuinely interesting. My goal as a tutor is simple: to help students feel confident, capable, and inspired to learn, no matter their starting point.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Dario — a PhD student in Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast with over nine years of experience tutoring maths and science to students from Key Stage 3 to A-Level (equivalent to Grades 7–12). My lessons are interactive, clear, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on building understanding, not just memorisation — breaking down complex ideas with step-by-step explanations and real-life examples that make science and maths more intuitive and engaging. Each session lasts about one hour, and I always start by setting achievable goals so students can track their progress and build confidence along the way. I’ve previously taught high school students in Canada, helping many improve grades, exam results, and their overall enjoyment of learning. Whether you need help catching up, preparing for exams, or pushing for top marks, I’ll help you feel confident and capable in every lesson.
