About Ollie
I’m a Psychology graduate and PGCE Primary Education trainee with years of experience tutoring students aged 5–16 in Maths, English, and Science. I’ve worked across KS1, KS2, and KS3 in both mainstream and SEND settings, supporting learners through tailored, engaging, and inclusive approaches. In 1:1 sessions, I create a supportive and engaging learning environment tailored to each child’s needs and learning style. With a background in Psychology and as a PGCE Primary Education trainee, I understand how to adapt my teaching to suit different ages (5–16) and abilities across English, Maths, and Science. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and include a mix of interactive strategies—games, visual aids, talk-based learning, and scaffolded tasks—to keep students engaged and build confidence. I often use tools like text-to-speech software to support students who struggle with writing, allowing them to express understanding verbally. Positive reinforcement is central to my tutoring: I set clear, achievable goals and celebrate progress, which boosts motivation and self-esteem. I live-mark work during the session and give real-time feedback, so misconceptions are addressed immediately. Every lesson is designed not just to close academic gaps but to help students feel successful, capable, and proud of their learning.
