About Abby
I am most interested in helping people to achieve their potential through mastering a language. I have used games and activities or books and movies to access English, and am happy to tailor classes depending on your preference. I have many hobbies and interests and like to use these to help you understand more about English culture and start interesting and inspiring conversations, all with quality English tuition built in.
My academic experience includes a First Class English degree, PGCE certificate and the Masters (MSc) I am currently studying towards. Additionally, I have also worked as a proofreader of academic work up to PhD level.
I am passionate about moving the world towards a sustainable future and have many topics related to sustainability that more advanced students can discuss with me.

I have 6 years of experience in UK schools and online ESL teaching. I take pride in providing a happy classroom with a fun and friendly approach to English for all levels, from basic phonics all the way up to detailed text analysis and comprehension using a range of books and materials. I am happy teaching adults as well as children, and have prepared both for exams.
I am also available for academic proofreading and editing, having achieved excellent marks in the taught modules of my MSc.
I am a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE and TEFL certificate, and I am currently studying my MSc in Education. My research and passion includes curriculum development and how that relates to sustainability and the regeneration of our planet.
Lessons can be adapted to suit you, from 30minutes (generally for younger students), up to 1-2 hours depending on the topics to be covered.

Perfect! Really fun and enjoyable session whilst managing to engage my daughter and pinpoint the things she needs help with.
- It was so lovely to meet Sally and Flora and we covered much ground together. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and getting to know Sally’s daughter Flora a little better.
