About Nahel

My name is Nahel. I’m French and Tunisian. I was born and raised in Lyon, France - I’m passionate about languages, and learning English opened up so many doors for me! I truly believe that anyone can learn any language at any age if they make time for it, and focus on consistency. This might sound redundant… but it’s true! I’m here to help you get a better grasp of conversational French and unlock new opportunities.

About the lesson

I always start our lessons by a little bit of conversation, mostly in French (although most likely not if you've *just* started learning) by engaging with you about what you have been up to, or any topic of your choice if that's what you prefer. I also always give an outline for our lesson that day. What I want is for my students to feel confident first and foremost!

Then, I like to propose an exercise following a French language rule that is relevant to your level as well as your interests, during which there is no pressure to speak French yourself (though I will try and have you answer questions I ask in French for you to practice listening comprehension and reactivity!). As you get better at the language, there will be plenty of time for you to use it more in conversation with me and others!

After each lesson together, I send resources which will be catered to you and relevant to what you'll have learned during our tutoring session straight to your inbox within 48 hours. There are no expectations for how you should engage with these from my part, but my goal is for you to review these and take what you need into our next session(s)! These resources always contain some vocabulary we'll have gone through, as well as an outline for any specific language rule we'll have looked at, and I may send you links to help you go further, too.

So, whether you're tired of resources that feel too "broad", making it hard to properly relate and learn French, or have always wanted to actually get good at French and be able to speak to natives without feeling out of place and not in control of your knowledge... or if you have always wanted to go beyond the little you were taught in school, I’m here to help you through customised lessons and resources, as well as regular and fun conversations!

Because of this, my pronunciation is quite good and I am learning to use French more naturally than I would if I taught myself with just textbooks and learning apps - one of the best perks of practising with a native speaker!
