About DOLAPO OLUWASEGUN
I began teaching Mathematics and English at upper primary level before moving into secondary school Economics, and over the years I've prepared students for Common Entrance, IGCSE, International GCSE, and A-Level examinations. I hold a Master's in Economics Education, a B.Sc. in Economics, an NCE in Economics and Mathematics, and I'm a Cambridge-certified Economics educator, a certified TEFL educator, and registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
I also work as an examiner for Pearson and Cambridge, which gives me real insight into how students are assessed and what strong answers actually look like. I'm currently working towards a professional certification in taxation, something I approach the same way I encourage my students to learn: steadily and with genuine curiosity.
In lessons, I focus on breaking down difficult ideas using simple, practical examples, adapting to how each student learns best, and building understanding rather than memorized answers. My goal is always the same, helping you grasp the subject properly and feel genuinely confident doing it.

Hello! I'm Segun, and I teach Economics online to secondary school and undergraduate students. I hold a Master's degree in Economics Education from the University of Lagos, and I also work as an examiner for Pearson Edexcel, Cambridge, and WAEC, so I don't just teach economics, I know exactly how exam boards expect students to think and answer. That gives my students a real edge when it comes to exam time.
What makes me different is how I break economics down. A lot of students find macro and microeconomics intimidating because they sound abstract, but I connect every concept to things happening in everyday life, prices, markets, government decisions, so the ideas actually click instead of just being memorized. I organize my classes around each student's pace and goals rather than following a rigid script, so whether you're just building your foundation or preparing for a big exam, I shape the sessions around what you actually need.
I've spent years teaching across British and Nigerian curricula, and I've also served as Head Teacher, so structure and clear communication with both students and parents come naturally to me. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, no matter how basic they seem, because that's how real understanding is built. I'm looking forward to working with you and helping you grow genuinely confident in economics.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I hired Mr. Adebakin as a private Economics tutor for my son when he was struggling with his IGCSE preparations. He is incredibly patient and knows how to break down difficult economic theories into simple, everyday examples. What I appreciate most is his structured teaching style. He does not just give answers but guides the student to think critically and find the solutions on their own. A standout moment for us was when my son finally understood complex market graphs after Mr. Adebakin used interactive visual tools to explain the concept. Thanks to his extensive teaching experience and background as an examiner, my son gained massive confidence and excelled in his final papers. I highly recommend him to any parent looking for a dedicated professional.
