About Anissa
I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and challenges, then design lessons with clear, achievable goals. I teach students how to break down assignments into manageable steps, organize their thoughts before writing, and approach reading with active strategies like annotation and guided questioning. Instead of simply editing their work, I show them how to revise independently and understand their mistakes. I maintain structure in every session while creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.

I design engaging, confidence-building lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and academic level. As a graduate of New York University with a degree in English and American Literature and minors in Creative Writing and The Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology, I bring both academic rigor and creativity into every session. I help younger students strengthen reading comprehension, develop clear and organized writing skills, and build critical thinking abilities in a supportive, encouraging environment. My goal is not just better grades, but helping students feel proud of their ideas and excited about learning.
