About Evelyn

I am a guitar tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Audio Engineering, with a guitar focus. I am passionate about jazz and blues improvisation and love helping students explore their own musical voice. My teaching is supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals.

I focus on modal scales, arpeggios, dominant seventh theory, and bebop phrasing. Students develop a unique improvisational style while building solid technical foundations. I have taught school students, hobbyists, and professional musicians, from Intermediate to Advanced levels.

Lessons include practical exercises, creative exploration, and performance preparation. I help students prepare for gigs, jam sessions, and solo projects. My approach emphasises both musical knowledge and expressive freedom.

Together, we explore improvisation, technique, and musical creativity. Each lesson is designed to inspire confidence and growth. Let’s embark on a journey to find your personal voice on the guitar.

About the lesson

I teach guitar with a focus on songwriting, chord progressions, and acoustic arrangements. My lessons guide students through lyrical composition and translating ideas into songs. Students learn to structure their creativity while exploring their own style.

I work with Blues Seekers and Aspiring Rock Stars who want to develop original music. Lessons are interactive, supportive, and goal-oriented. Students practise creating melodies, experimenting with chords, and arranging pieces.

I emphasise turning inspiration into finished compositions. Lessons include rhythm exercises, phrasing, and songwriting techniques. Students gain confidence in playing and performing their original work.

My methodology balances creativity with clear guidance. Each lesson is tailored to personal goals and musical tastes. Together, we explore songwriting, composition, and musical storytelling.

By the end, students express themselves confidently through original songs. Let’s bring your musical ideas to life.
