About Michelle
I am an generalist early childhood teacher with 6 years of experience in the field, who is passionate about teaching, and keen to build on children and adults' skills in piano playing.
I utilise my repertoire of teaching strategies as I work with students, teens, and adults, to boost their technical piano skills, confidence, and enjoyment of piano playing.
Having completed ABRSM Practical Grade 8 and Theory training, I am skilled and well-versed with technical piano, and piano skill assets such as musicality and aural listening skills for continuous and progressive improvement. I am also currently considering extending my skills through a Diploma in Piano teaching.
With my experience:

> I endeavour to make music learning a positive and fun experience through fun methodologies, hands-on learning, and positive reward structures.

I am now having a break in my professional career to tutor more in piano, which I very much love and enjoy, and welcome people of all ages and backgrounds to come and seek my teaching help.

I base my classes on the student's learning goals and interest level. With younger children and beginners, I aim to provide a solid framework for flourishing in piano playing and note-reading, namely in piano playing technique. With older and more seasoned learners, I will adjust my teaching according to the needs of the individual, and provide resources, tips, and materials to support their learning progression. I welcome interest-led learners too; if you're just wanting short-term help on a specific piece of music or a couple of songs, I will be most happy to help you achieve your goals.
A typical lesson with me begins with warming up, specific song playing, followed by theory (optional- according to the learner's goals and interests). For younger learners and children, I also cover aural training which is integral to successful music learning. My technique is guided my the internationally recognised Royal Schools of Music Board in London (ABRSM).

Details
For early beginners I would recommend face to face lessons prior to moving to webcam lessons.
The travel fee provided is within a 7km distance from Booragoon. Additional fees may apply beyond a 7km radius.
