About Grant

I am a patient, enthusiastic and humorous Chinese tutor whose native language is Mandarin. I currently live in Sydney, so I am bilingual in English and Chinese.
I really enjoy communicating with people and helping others make progress. I have a double master's degree in finance and management, and a bachelor's degree in engineering. I was a debater in college debate competitions during my university years. In addition, I often do public speaking and hosting in Mandarin.
I have many years of management experience in listed companies, and my rich work experience brings a unique perspective to my language coaching. My broad cross-cultural communication skills, coupled with my extensive reading, create an opportunity for students to not only learn the language but gain a deep understanding of the culture.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is communicative and interactive, focusing on real-world applications of the language. I incorporate a variety of multimedia resources, such as videos, audio materials, and interactive exercises to engage students actively and stimulate their interest in learning Chinese. Tailoring lessons to each student's learning style, I emphasize a balance between speaking, listening, reading, and writing to ensure a comprehensive language acquisition experience.
Language is the carrier of culture and the boundary of thought. I also try to use my rich life and work experience and broad vision to help students understand culture through language.
My tutoring services cater to individuals of various levels and ages. Whether you are a beginner aiming to grasp the basics of Chinese or an advanced learner looking to enhance specific language skills, my lessons are tailored to meet your needs. I have experience working with both adults and young learners, ensuring that the content is age-appropriate and engaging for each demographic. Whether someone is preparing for business interactions, travel, or personal enrichment, I adapt my lessons accordingly.
