About the lesson

As a primary school Maths tutor, my teaching approach is centred around creating an engaging, supportive, and interactive learning environment that encourages young learners to develop a strong foundation in Maths. I focus on building confidence and making Maths enjoyable, tailoring my lessons to the needs and learning styles of each student.

Teaching Method and Techniques
I believe that children learn best through a combination of visual aids, hands-on activities, and clear, step-by-step explanations. My lessons often involve:

Using real-life examples to help students see the relevance of Maths in their everyday lives.
Interactive exercises like games, puzzles, and worksheets to reinforce concepts in a fun way.
Positive reinforcement and encouragement to help students build self-confidence.
I also ensure that each lesson is paced appropriately, taking the time to revisit and reinforce any areas where a student may struggle, and celebrating their successes to motivate them.

Typical Lesson Plan
Introduction: A quick recap of the previous lesson to ensure continuity.
Concept Introduction: Present the new topic, breaking it down into smaller, easy-to-understand parts.
Practice Exercises: Use interactive tools or worksheets to practice the concept.
Games or Real-life Application: Engage the student with a game or a practical example related to the concept.
Review and Homework Assignment: Summarise the day's lesson and assign light homework to reinforce the learning.

I don’t just teach for the sake of completing the curriculum—I tailor my lessons to match each child’s pace, interests, and challenges. I am committed to helping students not only understand Maths but also enjoy it.
