About Alexis

With over six years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Voice Emphasis, I bring both technical knowledge and heartfelt passion to every lesson. I’ve had the joy of teaching students across all levels—school learners, college musicians, and adult professionals pursuing their vocal dreams. My lessons are always personalised, designed to meet each student’s goals and celebrate their unique voice. I teach a wide range of styles, including classical, pop, movie, and folk singing, helping students discover their strengths while expanding their versatility. A strong foundation in ear training, harmony, and improvisation allows me to develop well-rounded singers who not only perform beautifully but *understand* the music they sing. I integrate music theory naturally into our lessons so that each note, rhythm, and phrase makes sense both technically and emotionally. Vocal health and safe technique are at the heart of my teaching. I believe every student deserves a nurturing space where confidence grows alongside skill. My approach is interactive, encouraging, and deeply supportive—whether we’re mastering a challenging piece or exploring a new genre. About the lesson

My singing lessons for *The Orchestra Member* and *The Crossover Artist* are designed to strengthen both technical musicianship and expressive performance. For orchestra singers, the focus begins with solid music literacy—reading notation fluently, recognising intervals instantly, and blending seamlessly within ensemble harmonies. For crossover performers, lessons balance classical precision with stylistic flexibility, helping them move confidently between genres while maintaining strong vocal control. Each session includes structured sight-singing practice using modern apps and notation tools that make reading and pitch accuracy engaging and visual. Interval training builds the ear-mind-voice connection, allowing singers to internalise melody lines and harmonic progressions with confidence. Rhythm exercises using metronome and rhythm trainers help develop impeccable timing and phrasing, essential for both ensemble and solo work. As practice becomes steady, both personas grow in independence—The Orchestra Member learns to anticipate harmonic changes and sight-read with fluency, while The Crossover Artist gains agility to interpret diverse styles with clarity and emotion. My approach ensures progress through consistency, mindful listening, and musical curiosity. Together, we build not just skill, but a deeper understanding of how sound, thought, and expression unite through the voice.
