About Magnolia

I began giving lessons about a year ago with another tutoring service, and usually taught one on one (but have done lessons with two students at once; they were friends and were both interested in learning the language). The students I taught were all learning outside of the classroom and simply had a passion for the language; I helped to introduce them to the basics and got to see their potential blossom with each lesson!

About the lesson

I am a passionate, caring person who has always loved helping and working with people, especially students! Being a recent college graduate myself, I can understand the kind of stress and negative feelings school can create for students. I want to help minimize and even eliminate that for them, and help them achieve their true potential!

I began studying Japanese as early as my freshman year of high school, and have been studying the language for about 9 years now. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Language and Culture from Florida State University in December 2015. I even have had the opportunity to travel to Japan twice now; the last time being for a 2 month long study abroad program, where my classes were taught solely in Japanese.

One of my main goals for sessions is to keep the student engaged and challenged, but not to the point of overwhelming them. I would like to assign reviews for the students that we can assess at following sessions, and create progress reports to see where we are after a few sessions.

I specialize in tutoring Japanese language and culture! I always excelled in and loved studying the language when I was in school, and would love the opportunity to share that with students. School doesn't have to be stressful and boring; it can be an exciting opportunity to discover what you love and hone your skills for the future!

My love and attention to detail for Japanese make me a fantastic tutor for them, and I would be more than happy to share my love and knowledge for them with my students!
