About Elaine
I was an Adjunct Humanities instructor, K-12 substitute, and a Children's Librarian by training. I have taught/facilitated a wide variety of classes at five different schools/colleges. My expertise is in World History. Five of my students recently earned perfect grades. I have nearly 20 years of combined experience in education and public libraries. Some examples of classes I have taught or subbed for are: Western Civilization I and II, US History I and II, History of the Middle East, Russian History and Culture, Introduction to World Geography, Introduction to World Religions, and Middle School Science and Special Education.

In my career, I have taught students from first grade through undergraduates in college. I have mentored elementary students in reading and tutored college students in history and geography. I try to meet the students where they are and tailor my lessons to their strengths.

Details
My standard rate is $18.00/hr or $10/half hour sessions. There is a $20 cancellation fee if I am not notified 24 hours prior to the tutoring session. I am willing to work with families, in need. I will not work for less than $15/hr because I have a Master's degree and nearly 20 years of experience which means my time and skills are valuable.
