I focus on a practical, song-based approach where students start playing real music from the very first lesson. My methodology balances: Hands-on practice (70%): chords, rhythm, and simple songs straight away. Essential theory (30%): introduced only when it directly supports what we’re playing. Progressive learning: beginning with open chords and rhythm patterns, then moving into barre chords, riffs, arpeggios, and improvisation. Active participation: I encourage students to record short videos of their practice between lessons to monitor progress.
