About Praise

Hi there! My name is Praise, and I'm a native Mandarin speaker from Hubei, China. Currently, I'm in the final year of my Master of Finance study at the Australian National University. I'm an extroverted, self-disciplined and resilient person! In my spare time, I love reading Chinese novels, listening and singing pop music, traveling and learning different languages (French and Korean). And I'm interested in exploring the extensive and profound Chinese culture, especially ancient Chinese history!

Moreover, I had the experience to be a volunteer to introduce Chinese culture and organize some activities like ‘Lion Dance’ and ‘Calligraphy Games’ for many people from different countries when I was an undergraduate student at Deakin University. Therefore, I will integrate more relevant traditional Chinese culture into each topic in my class, as I believe it plays an important role in understanding the Chinese authentically.

About the lesson

I will split my class into two types which are general lessons and conversational lessons. And for all types of lessons, I will first communicate with you to understand your current level and your needs, in order to tailor the appropriate way to teach you.
• For the General lesson, in the first half of our class, we will focus on the specific textbook (HSK, New Practical Chinese Reader, etc.) to learn some basic vocabulary and grammar. In the second half of our class, I will give you some practice to strengthen the knowledge we have just learned.
• For the Conversational lesson, we will practice speaking Chinese for different topics, including daily conversation, business Chinese, etc. Throughout this lesson, you can learn how to express your opinions natively and know more about Chinese culture!
My teaching purpose should be: Practice makes perfect!!
