About Anna

Creative thinker, diary-writer, avid reader, ardent lyric analyst, actor, director, theatre-maker, and poet. Graduated with a First studying Drama and English Literature at the University of Manchester. Got an 82/100 for my dissertation. Have poetry analysis and critical thinking in literature, while proof-reading work and refining students' written and verbal expression. Achieved my TEFL certification. Currently working as a Teaching Assistant.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to have an original discussion with my student about where they're at and beginning with a few practice exercises to see where their strengths are. I then set goals and formulate a plan for us to follow, and explain it simply and clearly to the student. My approach is to harness a student's skills and support them where they are lacking in confidence. It is vital that I meet them wherever they are so that they know that they have space and time to practice and learn.

Ashraf is clearly struggling with his confidence in articulating the English language. We are working on improving phonic pronunciation and developing his understanding of sentence structure. He is hardworking and generally speaks clearly and well, but our focus is on refinement and enhancing his relationship with the English language. He is a delight to teach!
