About Chelsea
My name is Chelsea. I'm a counseling doctoral student. I'm passionate about kids and helping my community. History was always my favorite subject in school. My classmates were always coming to me for help. Even my older brother, who was four years ahead of me in school would ask me for help. The problem in schools is history becomes pointless rhetoric. I want to show students that history is fun and fascinating. I use a varied and age-appropriate methodology base on how the student learns. Many times, a student struggles with a subject because they are not being taught in a way that makes sense to them. For instance, if my student is a visual learner, I utilize white boards, flash cards, or other visual tools. My brother and I helped each other by creating mock-battles in the living room, and we would call out facts while battling. However the student learns, I want to be a catalyst to spark their imagination and show them the awesomeness of history.
