About Rebekah

My greatest strength as a tutor is my positive approach to improving the confidence and academic performance of my students and find it incredibly rewarding to see the benefits that a 1:1 tutoring method can bring to students. I have an excellent track record of building students' confidence and enabling them to make fantastic progress.

I am a secondary school trained English teacher who has previously worked running a department and have been consistently graded as an Outstanding teacher throughout my career. I have a proven track record of excellent results and 6 years of tutoring experience, including with students who have made 2 levels of progress in their results. I trained with Teach First and gained a distinction in my P.G.C.E I have also worked for the past 2 years as an AQA English Language Examiner and am studying part time for my Masters Degree at UCL in Education.

I am passionate about teaching and aim to keep students inspired about learning. I love the subjects I teach and hope to pass that on to my students in order to help them achieve the best possible results.

I teach English through from beginners through to graduate level in all areas including exam practice, creative writing, Shakespeare, analysis skills, comprehension and essay technique. I have also worked as a L.A.M.D.A and classroom and private drama teacher and am able to teach beginners to post-degree standard. I am able to assist with both academic drama, performance as well as using drama as a tool for confidence building, interview skills, acting and L.A.M.D.A to gold medal standard.

I originally studied for my A Levels at Hayes School in Bromley and then attended the University of Birmingham for my undergraduate degree in English Literature and Drama. I have a graduate law degree from the University of Nottingham and a P.G.C.E from Canterbury Christ Church University in English teaching- where I graduated with Distinction.

Each student is unique, and I believe in working with each one to understand their individual needs and gauge what they wish to achieve through our sessions.
