About Lennon
My journey with crochet began eight years ago when I first discovered how calming and expressive fiber art could be. What started as a simple creative experiment gradually grew into a lifelong passion as I learned more about yarn types, artistic textures, and advanced stitch techniques. Over time, I found myself creating clothes, accessories, decorative pieces, and original patterns that reflected my evolving artistic style. Teaching became a natural extension of my craft, especially as friends and community members became curious about making their own handmade creations. This led me to share my skills with students of different ages, helping them discover the same sense of joy, calmness, and creativity that crochet brought into my life. Crafting with yarn has become not just a hobby but a meaningful part of my identity—one that continues to inspire me daily. I take a patient, structured, and encouraging approach to teaching because I understand that every learner arrives with different goals and levels of confidence. My lessons focus on clear demonstrations, visual explanations, and step-by-step guidance that make even advanced techniques feel achievable. I emphasize building strong foundational habits such as tension consistency, proper hook grip, and understanding how different stitches interact to form patterns. At the same time, I encourage experimentation and personal expression, helping students explore new textures, shapes, and creative ideas. I believe creativity flourishes when learners feel both supported and free to explore, and this philosophy guides every lesson I teach. Students can expect an environment where their questions are welcomed, their pace is respected, and their progress is celebrated. Outside of teaching, I design original patterns, collaborate on crafting projects, and stay connected with the fiber arts community to keep my skills fresh and inspired. I enjoy pushing my own boundaries by experimenting with modern textile techniques, color transitions, and garment construction methods that help expand my creative language. These experiences enrich my teaching and allow me to bring contemporary ideas into the classroom. Crochet has given me a sense of balance, artistic purpose, and joy, and sharing it with students continues to be one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. My goal is to help each learner not only develop strong technical skills but also discover the emotional comfort, artistic expression, and sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something by hand.

Crochet is a beautiful blend of calmness, creativity, and tactile expression, and my lessons are designed to gently guide students into this inspiring craft with confidence and joy. Each session creates a peaceful atmosphere where learners can explore yarn textures, experiment with color palettes, and gradually build their stitching rhythm. I begin by helping students understand tension control, hook handling, and how to develop a smooth, consistent flow in their work. This early focus builds the foundation needed for them to explore more expressive projects later on. My teaching approach encourages curiosity and patience, making space for students to enjoy the process of crafting as much as the finished result. Crochet becomes a grounding activity that balances creativity with relaxation, allowing learners to engage their hands and minds in a soothing, purposeful way. Whether someone dreams of making cozy clothing, cute amigurumi, or intricate patterns, I ensure each lesson feels welcoming, personal, and filled with creative possibilities.
My teaching process adjusts naturally to beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced crafters so that everyone grows at a pace that feels fulfilling. Beginners start with core foundations such as basic stitches, slip knots, and chain-building while learning to maintain steady tension and understand how yarn behaves. As they gain comfort, I introduce small beginner-friendly projects like coasters, hats, or simple toys that help them apply new techniques without feeling overwhelmed. Intermediate students explore pattern interpretation, color changes, shaping methods, granny squares, and multi-step projects that build artistic control. Advanced learners focus on garment construction, intricate lacework, custom pattern creation, and expressive design techniques that allow them to create highly personalized pieces. I provide project-based assignments, pattern walkthroughs, progress check-ins, and personalized guidance to address individual strengths and challenges. By combining technique, creativity, and structure, I help students move forward with confidence and artistic clarity.
Students often find crochet to be more than just a craft—it becomes a therapeutic and emotionally rewarding part of their lives. Many discover that stitching helps them relax, improve concentration, and express creativity in a deeply personal way. I guide learners through creative reflection, color exploration, and customization techniques that help them connect with their work on a meaningful level. As students complete projects, they experience a sense of accomplishment that strengthens confidence and sparks new ideas. Crochet also develops fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and patience, as learners learn to identify patterns, correct mistakes, and adapt techniques creatively. Whether a student is crafting for personal enjoyment, making gifts, or building a long-term textile art practice, my goal is to help them deepen their artistic identity. Over time, they gain a strong technical foundation, a growing creative toolkit, and a renewed appreciation for the calming beauty of handmade craft.
