About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on identifying each student’s strengths and weaknesses early on to provide tailored support. I believe that everyone learns differently, so understanding where a student excels and where they struggle allows me to adapt my teaching style to their unique needs.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques:

I use a student-centered approach, where I first assess their strengths and weaknesses through problem-solving sessions. I then design my lessons to reinforce their strengths while targeting their areas of difficulty with more focused practice. I use visual aids, interactive discussions, and real-world examples to clarify complex topics, ensuring students grasp the underlying concepts fully. My teaching is highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and take an active role in their learning.

A Typical Lesson Plan:
1. **Initial Assessment (5-10 minutes):** Begin by reviewing previous topics and assessing where the student stands. I pay close attention to both correct answers and mistakes to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
2. **Targeted Concept Breakdown (20-30 minutes):** Teach new topics or review areas where the student struggles by breaking down concepts into manageable pieces. I relate abstract ideas to real-life applications, especially in math, calculus, and linear algebra, to make learning more engaging.
3. **Practical Problem-Solving (20-30 minutes):** Guide the student through example problems, gradually increasing difficulty as they gain confidence. This is where I pay extra attention to their thought process, adjusting my approach if needed.
4. **Strength & Weakness Review (10-15 minutes):** End each session by reviewing the student’s performance. I highlight their strengths and encourage them, while also providing targeted exercises to help address any weaknesses identified during the lesson.
