About Kennedy
Singing should feel like a celebration of who you are, and in my lessons, I strive to help you discover the full range of your voice while enjoying the process. My teaching is highly individualized — we focus on your voice, your goals, and your musical tastes. If you're nervous, that's completely okay. I create a calm, welcoming space where you can experiment, ask questions, and grow without pressure. Whether you want to sing casually or perform onstage, I’ll guide you through techniques that build strength, flexibility, and expressiveness. Beginners will find clear, encouraging steps to get started, while advanced singers can work on refining tone, exploring stylistic choices, and mastering performance techniques. I believe that music learning should be playful and engaging. In our lessons, we might use imagery, movement, storytelling, or improvisation to unlock vocal freedom and deepen your connection to the music. You’re always in control of your musical direction — I support your song choices and help you shape them into performances that feel authentic and confident. I also support your growth outside of the lesson by helping you design a practice plan that’s realistic and motivating. Each lesson ends with a clear takeaway, so you always know what to work on. If you’re preparing for something specific — a concert, an audition, or a recording — I’ll tailor lessons to help you feel fully ready. I also teach musicianship skills like harmonizing, ear training, and understanding music basics, all of which enhance your singing. Most importantly, I celebrate every milestone with you, no matter how small. Progress happens step by step, and I’ll be your cheerleader and coach as you grow into the singer you’re meant to be.

I believe every singer has a set of natural vocal strengths waiting to be refined and celebrated. My teaching approach is built on identifying those strengths and using them as a foundation to develop technical precision, stylistic flexibility, and performance confidence.
We begin by exploring your natural voice—what feels intuitive, what brings you joy, and where your vocal comfort zone lies. Using this as a launch point, I introduce breath control, tone shaping, vocal agility, and dynamic expression through targeted vocal exercises and real-time feedback.
Rather than correcting every “flaw,” I focus on empowering what works and expanding from there. This positive reinforcement helps students build trust in their own sound and feel less intimidated by complex concepts. Over time, I introduce more nuanced vocal technique including vowel modification, registration balance (head/chest/mix), and articulation clarity, all connected back to the singer’s core strengths.
Repertoire is tailored not just to vocal ability, but to personal interests, storytelling preferences, and performance goals. Whether you're a pop enthusiast, musical theatre lover, or indie singer-songwriter, we’ll select songs that help you shine and stretch your skills.
I guide students to make intentional vocal choices that serve the story, mood, and audience connection. We incorporate lyric interpretation, phrasing variation, and emotional dynamics to deepen expressiveness.
Every lesson ends with a review of what worked and a brief goal-setting session to inspire purposeful practice. I teach with kindness, enthusiasm, and an unwavering belief in each student’s potential. My goal is not to create perfect vocalists, but powerful communicators who sing with both skill and soul.
