About Ansuya
I have obtained my Honors in Education. I have 10 years of teaching experience and I have taught English, Natural Science and Technology. I'm currently a Grade 5 English educator. I have also privately tutored high school students in English and History/Geography. The subjects I have obtained my first qualification in are English, Computers and Learning Support/Remedial Education.

My teaching methods include Learner-Centred teaching; Content-Centred teaching and Interactive/Participative Teaching methods.
A usual lesson of mine would begin with a recap of information taught in a prior lesson. If it is a new concept or topic being taught, I try to link it to the learners life/background in order to achieve better context.
The lesson would develop using tools such as a presentation/textbook/worksheet. I believe that if the learners see and hear information about the concept/topic, they are more inclined to understand it or grasp it. This part of the lesson would also include examples of the use of the concept/topic as well as in depth explanation of the activity or exercise that will follow.
Consolidation of the lesson will include the activity to be completed by the learner. Reassurance is always given to learners. Questions are encouraged, especially if the learner is still unsure of what to do.
The activity/exercise will be checked and discussed in the next lesson where corrections will be given for any mistakes.
Reinforcement of concepts are important in my lessons and teaching.
