Stepping in front of a class can feel daunting, especially when I'm hyper-aware of being young or relatively new to the role. The good news is that establishing authority and professional legitimacy has very little to do with pretending I know everything, and everything to do with how I manage the environment, my content, and relationship with the students. One of the straightforward approaches in gaining more confidence among students is to visualize the lesson flow. I always have a clear, visible agenda on the board or screen. When students see an organized structure (e.g., Intro, Core Activity, and followed by a Wrap-up), it signals a deliberate plan for their time and are completely in control of the learning trajectory. Apart from that, I'm able to handle unanticipated questions with a poised attitude, as it doesn't show weakness but academic integrity and accuracy commitment instead.
