About Izzy
I want to help people to learn and explore their own creativity, through drawing and painting. After completing my Degree in Painting, I worked in two Art Schools, where I taught life drawing and painting, as well as being a personal tutor at both Art Schools. I was able to apply the artistic skills I developed at university to teaching students how to develop their own practice. Since returning home to the Scottish Highlands, I am a self-employed professional Artist and I enjoy giving advice to the other artists I share a studio with. I adore visual language and I strongly believe in the power of creativity and that everyone can learn to draw and paint. I have great communication skills and I have the ability and desire to pass on what I know about Drawing and Painting. I also have experience teaching English both online and in person.

As everybody learns in a different way, I approach each lesson with an open mind and like to adapt my teaching abilities to the student so that they feel comfortable and are able to get what they want out of the lessons. I adopt a 'Present, Practice and Produce' teaching method in order to encourage self evaluation and critical thinking.
I can offer tuition in oil paints and mediums, watercolours, drawing (everything starts with drawing!), colour theory, crits of existing work, portfolio advice and much more. Please let me know what it is you are looking for and I will see if I can help you.
I can provide verbal/written feedback at the end of each lesson and am happy to arrange to teach wherever is best for you (online, at home..)
