About Jake
I am a graduate of the University of Oxford with a degree in Philosophy, Psychology and Linguistics. Outside of tutoring, I am Workshop and Welfare Coordinator for Herts Inclusive Theatre, teaching Drama to Children's and Adults with Learning disabilities. I have also been a teacher's assistant to school physics classes, coached an U14 girls' hockey team and directed year 7-9s in drama competitions. Having studied memory during my degree, I pride myself on my ability to explain difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand.

I am happy to give lessons from primary school to GCSE level in any science subject or maths. I can also provide help with critical thinking skills. My teaching method is based on my knowledge of psychological research into long term memory. I build up vivid and interesting analogies and mental images to aid understanding and recall of scientific and mathematical concepts. I am a patient and engaging teacher that will find ways to spark an interest in the subject matter.
