About George
Oxford Maths and Computer Science first year and have experience tutoring maths to students of varying abilities through mentoring opportunities at school. I studied A-level Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science at The Judd School and achieved A* A* A* A*. At GCSE, I achieved a 9 in Maths, Physics and Computer Science, as well as an A (highest possible grade) in Level 3 FSMQ. I achieved a score of 82 in the 2024 Oxford MAT and have experience in the Oxford Maths and Computer Science interview process. I also scored 7.6 in the updated TMUA format, sat online at Pearson VUE test centres. In addition, I have participated in several maths challenges, including UKMT Olympiads and Ritangle, and was awarded a bronze medal in the UKMT Maths Challenge.

I offer both in-person tutoring (Sevenoaks) and online sessions, with a strong preference for in-person lessons at the start to build a strong connection with the student and gain a clearer understanding of their individual learning style. These early face-to-face sessions allow me to more effectively identify areas for improvement and tailor support accordingly. I can tutor up to A-level and GCSE Maths, GCSE Further Maths, GCSE Physics, and GCSE Computer Science. I can also assist with Oxford MAT / TMUA preparation and Oxford Maths and Computer Science interview practice. My approach begins with an initial discussion to assess the student’s current understanding and highlight specific topics or concepts they find challenging. From there, I create a structured plan that targets these areas while reinforcing core subject knowledge. During sessions, I use pen and paper for clear step-by-step problem solving or Miro for interactive online explanations and collaborative work (with a compatible device). This flexibility allows students to engage with the material in a way that suits them best, whether we're working through exam-style questions or exploring tricky topics in depth.
