About Erik

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing genuine progress. There is something particularly satisfying about helping a student work through a concept they initially found confusing and eventually seeing them approach it with confidence. Improving grades is important, of course, but I also want my students to leave lessons feeling more capable and more comfortable tackling challenging material independently.

I am particularly comfortable working across multiple subjects. Rather than treating each subject as completely separate, I often draw on skills and ways of thinking that transfer between them. For students receiving support in several areas, this allows me to build a more complete understanding of how they learn and to adjust my approach accordingly. I have received particularly positive feedback from students who have worked with me across several subjects, many of whom have seen considerable improvements in their results.

Besides my work, I am a keen sports player and particularly enjoy tennis and volleyball. I also enjoy travelling with friends and discovering new places, cultures, and experiences.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is centred on making learning clear, engaging, and genuinely rewarding. I have a particular passion for taking concepts that may initially seem difficult or intimidating and explaining them in straightforward, accessible language. Wherever possible, I use interactive discussion, visual explanations, and practical examples to help students develop a deeper understanding rather than simply memorising information.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual. I take the time to understand a student’s strengths, identify the areas where they need greater support, and incorporate their interests where appropriate. My aim is to create lessons that are structured and purposeful while still giving students the confidence to ask questions, make mistakes, and explore ideas.

I have seven years of tutoring experience across a range of subjects, including mathematics, economics, and science. During this time, I have worked with students of different ages, abilities, and academic backgrounds, and one of the most rewarding parts of tutoring for me is seeing a student’s confidence grow alongside their results.

I teach students of all ages, including those preparing for GCSEs, A-levels and the International Baccalaureate, as well as adult learners. Whether a student is aiming for a particular grade, looking to strengthen their foundations, or simply wants to feel more confident in a subject, I adapt my teaching to help them make meaningful and lasting progress.
