About Georgia

I've just graduated from New College, Oxford with a First in English Language and Literature. I'd love to help you or your kids with English of any level, primary, KS3 and 4, GCSE, A-Level and Degree. I also have a lot of experience tutoring for Oxbridge entry and can offer guidance with Personal Statements, interviews and entrance exams such as the ELAT.

I'm passionate about learning, having worked as an Interview Shepherd at Oxford, led activities in an international summer school for students aged 7-18 and peer tutored in sixth form. This summer, I worked at a company helping students get in to Oxbridge, and I attended the UNIQ summer school at Oxford in 2015. My tutoring experience is backed up by a strong academic record: I achieved 12 A*s and 1A at GCSE (including 100% in my English Language GCSE) and 2A*s, 1A at A-Level, with full marks in my English Literature coursework.

About the lesson

I have an enthusiastic teaching style based on discussion and debate. I usually ask students to write something before the session, and will provide detailed feedback and further reading recommendations - practice is the key to top marks! One of the best things about studying English is that there is always more to discover about a text, and helping students to develop their own interpretations is one of my aims as a tutor.
