About Alistair
Graduated from Oxford with high 2:1 in English Language and Literature before taking a postgraduate law conversion course and starting work in a commercial law firm specialising in human rights, international public and criminal law. Can teach a number of subjects (including martial arts) but in particular English or American Literature (including the historical period), history, religious studies, creative writing, linguistics, language, law and basic science/maths. Recently moved to the island of Guernsey so available for face to face lessons there (including Herm and Sark). However in person lessons may incur a slight addition to the fee depending on the location and length of travel. DBS/police check records available on enquiry. Also available to offer discount lessons on skype to anyone in the UK as required. Extensive experience preparing detailed, focused and personalised lesson plans for ages 5-18. I also dedicate at least the length of the lesson to refreshing my knowledge of the materials (if required) and creating a tailored lesson plan. In my extensive experience this online approach has never slowed the rate of the improvement, and I hope that my consistent 5* reviews evidence this.
