About Sylvester

Hello, my name is Sylvester Irebhude Usigbe, and I am an experienced Mathematics Teacher and Private Tutor with over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students of different ages and abilities, helping them succeed in mathematics, science, and academic examinations.

I have taught in schools and provided private tutoring both offline and online, including supporting students in England, Scotland, and Ireland. Over the years, I have helped many learners prepare for examinations, improve weak areas, build confidence, and achieve better academic results.

Why I Want to Teach

I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping students learn and succeed. I understand that mathematics can sometimes feel difficult or overwhelming, but I believe every student has the ability to do well when given the right guidance, patience, and encouragement.

Teaching is more than a profession to me—it is a passion. I enjoy seeing students move from confusion to understanding and from self-doubt to confidence. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction than watching a student improve, solve problems independently, and begin to enjoy learning.

I teach because I believe education can transform lives. My goal is not only to help students pass examinations but also to help them develop confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills that will benefit them in school and beyond.

In my lessons, I aim to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learning at their own pace, and making progress step by step.

Hello and welcome!

My name is Sylvester Irebhude Paul Usigbe and I believe that every student can succeed in mathematics with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement. My approach to private tutoring is personal, supportive, and focused on helping each student gain confidence while achieving excellent academic results.

I understand that many students find mathematics challenging, confusing, or even frustrating. That is why I do not believe in a “one-size-fits-all” teaching method. Every student learns differently, and I take time to understand each learner’s strengths, weaknesses, pace, and learning style before designing lessons that suit their individual needs.
