About Simon

As your tutor, I am looking forward to harnessing all my expertise and resources and in-depth knowledge of exam board requirements to help you achieve your best results. Lessons will be informal but rigorous, with plenty of speaking in French and always with your needs uppermost in my planning and delivery.

About the lesson

I have taught French, Italian and English for over thirty years both in the UK and abroad in a variety of schools and colleges. I have been Head of French and Head of Modern Languages at a leading independent school in Cambridge for over 14 years and have been taking pupils through GCSE and A-Level French for over twenty-five years. I have helped numerous pupils prepare for Oxbridge interviews and pre-interview tests. I have taught English in language schools in the UK and in Italy and France and spent four years teaching English in a collège and a lycée where I prepared pupils for the baccalauréat.
Tutoring Approach
As well as rigorous exam-based preparation and revision, I offer a communicative and highly interactive methodology which requires pupils to think on their feet with an encouraging and step-by-step approach. Lessons last one hour.
First class degree (Durham University), PGCE and several years experience as a tutor with excellent track record.
